GENIUS ULTOR “Wiatr” Vinyl Record released by Dissonance Records

 
Risen from the ashes, Dissonance Records opens a new chapter in its history with the vinyl version of Genius Ultor’s third album, titled “Wiatr” (Wind). The album was released on December 13th, 2024, in two versions: classic black and exclusive smokey marble. Originally, the album was released in 2023 on CD under the label Piekłoniebo.

“Wiatr” is built on a backbone of heavy metal, with scraps of black metal and various other influences scattered across it. The album has a raw sound, recorded live, and was not subjected to any production fixes. The vinyl version features a new analog mastering and an alternative cover compared to the CD release, all created at Piekłoniebo.

The music is the result of teamwork:
“At first, I approached the project as I always do, which is to write everything for everyone. However, I quickly realized that this was not the right approach, and the opportunity wouldn’t come soon, so I completely let go. Since Mokry Dół joined us, everyone worked on their own parts to enrich the overall sound. After several rehearsals, the Wind blew, and it was captured on two.” – Zgorzel

The lyrics on “Wiatr” are deep, poetic, and ambiguous, written in Polish. Their layered symbolism highlights the avant-garde nature of the album. It’s a true journey through a sonic labyrinth, where every path reveals something new.

“The lyrics are deeply poetic… This is tribal provocation, throwing shit at enemies, with a dessert of wordplay and numerous references. You can also take it as a key to deciphering the mechanisms of destroying the remnants of your culture. In hindsight, I see it as a way of atoning for my role in its destruction during my youth.” – Zgorzel
