A real a gathering of witches! Three witches (two from the United States and one from France) came together to form a band that even today is still something extraordinary… namely a female band playing an extreme variety of Metal!
Frenchwoman Stéphanie Nolf has its roots in the French band UNSAFE (from 1998, where she plays until today), and Americanwoman Amy Zion additionally plays in the American band SOULS OF DISSOLUTION, she was also in DARK HAVEN. However, it seems that Emily Moss started an adventure with Metal music, as the musician…
I must admit that their witchcraft and spells (literally – the sounds) have a strong effect on my mind. I would say that they have charmed me with their music. I can not stop listening to this album! Many male musicians could learn a lot how to arrange songs to attract the listener.
The arrangements are very predatory, aggressive and emotional, and at the same time technical and climatic with a large dose of guitar and vocal melody in the form of pure guitar passages and solos and vocal sung phrases that easily ensnares the listener. It should be emphasized that the vocal range is interesting – from bestial, hysterical growling screams to sung phrases (sometimes slightly operatic or lamenting). The female’s growling is really frightening and powerful. However, some clean songs (usually those in higher tones, they do not hit the notes a little). But it does not have such meaning when it comes to the whole… very dynamic, sometimes with “djent”, sometimes also monumental (especially when there are keys in the background) as well as dark and melancholy.
The compositions contain some scheme combining sharp medium-fast playing with melodic slowingdowns. The songs feature several genres, ranging from the dark-melancholy Gothic Metal through the heavy and slow Doom Metal to the predation of Black Metal to the quick and mighty Death Metal, and the whole is merged with Metalcore aesthetics.
