=FUDGE= is the Bavarian band that combines the atmosphere of horror movies with Metal music. They were created in 2012, and “Dust To Come” is their debut album, which was preceded by two short music materials. With the release of this album, the band released a comic book to the story of “The Summoning”, which in a limited edition of hand-numbered 1000 copies is the bonus to the album.

Musically, =FUDGE= dynamically combines elements of Thrash Metal with Industrial Metal and little elements of Groove Metal, where everything is dominated by a dark and mysterious atmosphere. The strong and energetic guitar riffs are intertwined with melodic solos varied with industrial samples and synthesizer melodies (typical for German industrial bands, in RAMMSTEIN style). In some places the bass guitar is more exposed, which also creates a specific atmosphere. But I would like to add that the music contains dark rapacity and therefore some motifs I associate with MOONSPELL. And yet this is a completely different story… And this is completely different genre.

Mostly, the rhythm oscillates in medium and medium-fast paces with temporary tendencies to climatic slows (e.g. created with the participation of clean guitars, keyboards sounds and rhythmic percussion’s passages). But you don’t think that there is no powerful kick or more fast acceleration here! Many rhythms are very motorized.

The vocalism, I would say, is classical. Hoarse, predatory vocals (sometimes even growling) with accenting backing vocals. In addition, the interesting topic was the insertion of a children’s dark poem (in “Death To Man”), male melodeclamations or dialogues straight from a horror movie.

The album is multi-themed and quite richly composed. But despite this, it is consistent.
