Barcelona’s EXESSUS has released the second album for its tenth anniversary. The band gives homage to Thrash Metal, which can be undeniably heard in their compositions. However, Thrash Metal played by EXESSUS has different faces and influences, which still keep the music in the convention of Thrash Metal… but very varied.
Thrash Metal of EXESSUS is an interesting combination of speed, heaviness, aggression with climatic melodies with a technical approach to arranging.
Thrash Metal of EXESSUS shows aggressive shouts and screams supported by choirs, as well as calm and melodic singing, sometimes even very gentle, which proves the vocalist’s abilities.
Thrash Metal of EXESSUS is also Groove Metal themes composed of heavy, rhythmic and lively guitar sounds.
Thrash Metal of EXESSUS is also Hardcore accents, which is often heard not only in guitar riffs or exposed bass lines, but also in clearly shouted vocals and backing vocals.
Thrash Metal of EXESSUS also offers almost Death Metal guitar moments filled with percussive blasts.
Thrash Metal of EXESSUS clearly shows its passion for Progressive Metal playing, which can be heard in complicated guitar licks and climatic solos as well as in varied rhythms, and which of course proves the skills of the musicians.
Thrash Metal of EXESSUS neatly combines various topics, sometimes in a surprising way, moving from heavy and crushing motifs to very melodious sounds, full of spacious solos or clean guitar passages and chords.
Thrash Metal of EXESSUS is powerful, crushing pieces, but also delicate or very touching ballad sounds or melodies full of pathos and momentum.
Barcelona’s EXESSUS looks broadly when it comes to musical inspirations… Of course Spanish Folk is also felt (in guitar moments and vocal scales) apart from all types of Thrash Metal and elements of Hardcore, Heavy Metal, Groove Metal, Death Metal or Progressive Metal.
The music on the album “Asynapse” is very progressive. It starts innocently, i.e. classically (in terms of Thrash Metal) and with every minute it reveals its true face more and more. And even at the end of the album, it’s totally shocking with some sounds (but that’s a secret)!!!
