ARTILLERY – Interview with Michael

Hello Michael! Years later ARTILLERY is on the stage again. Tell us, what was the cause of the bands second reunion? Was it easier to get back together ten years ago or now?

Last time we played before the reunion, was in Denmark at The Rock in 2004 but, before that was in 2000 on Wacken open air in Germany , so i guess you can say it was 10 years ago. In a Long time we could´nt play, because Flemming did´nt wanted to play live shows (In 2008 we already played 11 shows so far with our new singer Sřren .

The appearance on this years Metalmania was your first performance in Poland. What is your impression? What do you think about the Polish fans and the way they accepted you?

It had already been one of our biggest moments this year, and the Polish Metal fans were great and gave us a lot of support. The festival was also well organisized and all things worked really well (Thanx to Metal Mind).

How does it feel to be back on the stage with your friends again? Do you feel as if you were still in the 80s?

Yes it had been like a trip back to the eighties, with this great support comming from all over the world and we are very greatfull for this support.

A lot of people felt anxious about Soren Nico Adamsen being the New front man. Personally, he made a hell great impression on me. How did it happen that he replaced Flemming Ronsdorf? Some personal arguments or what? If so, are you still in touch with Flemming?

There was many people who did´nt thougt that we could replace Flemming Rönsdorf with another singer, but about 90 % have taken Sřren to their heart , so it was a good move to replace Flemming cos we could´nt have reunite the band with him. Last time i saw Flemming was in November 2007.

Some time ago Metal Mind Polska released a concert DVD. Are you satisfied with it and with the cooperation with them?

Yes i think they had done an exelent job and it has been a pleasure workin´ with them uptil now and i´m looking forward to work with them in the future.

Have you got some of your old concert records in your closets? Of yes, are you considering a box release with that material, containing songs, clips, etc.? it would be a very precious prop for the fans.

We had lot of old stuff but the sound is not the best , so we picked up the best stuff and put them on the Boxset and the dvd.

You have been playing a lot of gigs for some time, are you thinking about recording a new album? If yes, would you consider working with Metal Mind Polska, and why?

Yes we wanna make a new cd and we already have 4 new songs and i´m sure we can work with Metal Mind arround that , cos as i said they did a good job with the boxset,dvd etc..

What do you think of all those young thrash bands and that trend for old school thrash metal? Are you interested in it or you just listen to your old stuff?

I think there´s a lot of good bands like Hatesphere , But i still prefere bands like Exodus. My musical roots are still the same as it always has been.

Finalny, I would like to ask you to say a few words to your Polish fans. I also hope to see you some time in Poland. Many thanks for the interview and keep it metal!
