Cool Songs: All of them
Domain hails to us all the way from, the debts of Poland's metal underground. They bring with them their own style of death metal, which they have perfected over the many years that they have been together. Domain is quite possibly the most unique death metal band that I have ever heard. Domain was originally formed in the autumn of 1989 under the name of Pandemonium. Under the name of Pandemonium domain released one demo and an album entitled “The Ancient Catatonia”. After the release of “The Ancient Catatonia” due to copyright problems, Pandemonium was forced to change their name to Domain. Thus the amazing legacy of Domain began, and now eight years later Domain has unleashed “Gat Etemmi” upon us.
Gat Etemmi starts off in the most amazing way with “Asaku Marsuti” being the first track. Asaku Marsuti starts, with tribal drums beating down, and then moves into skull crushing death metal. But what really makes Asaku Marsuti such an amazing song is the beautiful angel like voice that has been mixed into the song. Then track two “The Seven Sibbiti” comes on, and once again proves that Domain can kill. Every song on “Gat Etemmi” breaks new ground in a sometimes-ordinary death metal scene. But one of the things that makes this album so special is the very unique instrumental tracks that it contains. One of the best examples of, these unique instrumental tracks is the closing track Yog Sothoth Dominion. It is this single track that truly shows the breath-taking musical skills that Domain is known for. I absolutely love how the band has mixed piano music with very soft drums. It really combines to create a very peaceful end to such an amazing collection of songs.
In a musical genre that is so full bands that are trying to make their mark in the world using the same formulas to create their music. It's so nice to see a band like Domain create music that is so original. If you're a fan of extreme music then I take no shame in recommending that this become part of your CD collection.
