Music: Thrashy Melodic Death
Duration: 40:00 minutes (9 songs)
Cool songs: Hmm, the whole album is Cool.
Damn, NO songs on this album that jump out, the album in itsself is just a jump-out! Yeah, this is what I wanted, this is wat I needed, this is what allays my hunger for good music! Melodic, heavy and thrashy. Adrenaline filled tracks that hit you like a fist in your face (as they should).
This stuff reminds me of Killswitch Engage, only more Trashy. The big difference between these bands is that when Darkane starts a song, it immediately starts to roll, crushing everything in it's path. Killswitch' music sometimes needs to be pushed several times before it really gets to move. Darkane is not a standard Gothenburg band, that walks along the road that was built by bands like Soilwork, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity and At The Gates. It has It's very own sound, wild, laud and thrashy, and there is something else that makes this band so special, the lyrics, they're all about psychology (at least what I could understand, because the vocals are really aggressive).
There are few bands who can wake you up in the middle of the night, but Darkane became one of them, with it's catchy songtexts and devestating riffs. It leaves a great band like Slayer (with it's new (good) album God Hates Us All) lying trampled down in the mud, because Darkane raged over at lightspeed. No experimental shit, you're never left alone being bored. This album is more to the point, no 'beating around the bush', and it really gets to you the first time you hear it.
Don't buy this if you're really looking for an innovative record, it's not very progressive, and that might be the only weak point of this album. Don't worry, it still is very original music.
Darkane…You kicked my ass!!!!!!
