I have to confess am not a die hard fan of MANOWAR, but if someday someone ask me for great classic heavy metal albums, this one will stay in that list (along with JUDAS PRIEST – British Steel, WASP – Wasp and (obviously) IRON MAIDEN – Piece of mind (or put whatever album here, Maiden rules!).
This one have all of a Traditional Heavy metal album got to have: fast songs, power ballads, heavy songs, great riffs, SoloS, higher vocal notes, chorus-like songs; all this pack covered with a lot of epic feeling and big choruses. You can feel the power and force of this album, indeed! And as highlights, there are two songs of this album that are truly unique: “Sting of the Bumblebee” (Not other than the classical song “Flight of the Bumblebee” but in BASS!!!) and “The Warriors Prayer”, a narrated story from grandfather to son about a medieval war, emphasized by ambient sounds to give it a more epic taste.
HAIL AND KILL!
