Could it be… That we have the best black metal release of 2003 so early on in the year??? Probably not, because Cradle Of Filth and Dimmu Borgir will release theirs later on, but this sounds GREAT…

While The Pagan Prospherity and Revelation 666 where real killer albums, this one overkills. Galder (driving force behind the band) and his companions, sound a little like Dimmu Borgir, although OMC is more melodic and chaotic (what I really like), and doesn't use clear vocals or real orchestra. This album is a masterpiece, it can easily be compared to (and maybe exceed) its big brother “Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia” (Dimmu Borgir), if we look at the quality of both albums.

This music Old Man's Child Creates is magnificant, lying somewhere between heaven and hell. Extreme speeds and heavyness are reached, but it's all extremely melodic at the same time. There is only one fitting term for this sort of music: beautifull.

Nicholas Barker, one of the best drummers (if not best) in the extreme metal scene, has filled up a big gab (musically speeking ;-)) in the music of both OMC and Dimmu. I'm looking forwared to hear him beating the skins on Dimmu Borgir's Death Cult Armageddon, which will be released later on this year.

It's a pitty this album is so damn short, but on the other hand, few songs on a disk that all kill is better than a lot of songs, some good, some not. But why not make the really cool songs a little longer? Or add interesting covers, like Dimmu does? Talking about covers, this album's cover really kicks ass….
