VENOM „Live from London - DVD” - okładka
Recorded at Hammersmith Odeon Theatre 10/08/1985

All hail the creators of black metal. This show was recorded and released in VHS format in 1985 and was one of the first of its kind to be sold. This show only has a running time of 47:23 min but hits you like a ton of bricks. It shows the band in there prime when they where laying the foundation for what is the black metal scene today. This show was out of print till the year 2000 when K-Tel international LTD transferred it to DVD format and re-released it. Venom in the early days where not known for there great production or mix but they way more then made up for it with there energy. There sound is like taking a fist to the face. Very heavy with tons of speed. There is no polish here just old school VENOM in your face and down your throat. The songs performed at this show was not really broken down song for song but more or less played in a non stop fashion. Once the show starts it never lets up till the end. It is stuff like this that should not be forgotten for it is stuff like this that has made the metal scene what it is today. These guys didn’t care what the reviewers said or what the record company’s said they played it there way and let the fans decide. Sure the run time on this show could have been longer but it is what it is and it should be enjoyed by all metal heads world wide and with a set list as classic as this one it will be for years to come. If you like your black metal performed by the masters thin this is a must find DVD. If by any chance there is anyone out there that does not know of venoms older stuff then go get this one and see for yourself how the masters created it. A must have for any VENOM fan this is a classic.

note: 10/10
