Cool songs: Desert of Emotions, Emptiness
The band was formed in 2000 by the former members of another band, called CREEPY SHADOW. After many changes in the line up (Luca Mazzilli, the creator and main vocalist decided to leave the band at the end of 2005), the band managed to stand on their feet and record a demo The Things Ive Left. New and more solid squad (Palmieri on vocals) is looking forward to create their full-length release.
LYKAION shows the claw at the very beginning, by that strong and loud bang – Desert of Emotions. And later on it seems that the claw changed into a nail. The energy, which is present throughout the whole first track, simply does not exist in the latter songs. This brings some unpleasant memories and similarities with LABYRINTH (another Italian pseudo-band). Only Tizianas strong feminine voice saves the whole from a complete blackout. Fortunately, Emptiness brings back the dynamite and everything gets back on the right track. This voice has one of the most powerful pitches I have ever heard and Tiziana should use that powerful and hoarse voice as often as possible, because it carries an enormous dose of power. The music sounds good, no technical problems, everything mixed and mastered perfectly.
The album is satisfactory, but still, there is an impression, that some more ideas could have been added, although the band resigned from such action. Show more aggression and savage power, reinforced by that fantastic vocal, and everything should be just fine.
