Militant FlakNRoll
that is the name, which the musicians coined for their style of play. Instead of black, they have chosen a word, similar in sound, so now this means, that there should be a lot of gunpowder. Going back into 1996, when the band was formed, moving through the late 90s, the guys recorded only two full-length CDs. This one, is their third.
This black, or flak material, is not like any other black music. The Estonian musicians try to put the listener into bed, or at least bore to death. The sound is at least powerful, harsh and raw, but does not offer anything interesting or innovative. What is more, the compositions do not have that thing, which would attract more listeners, just like the flypaper is attractive to flies. It is just an average heavy play, with some cool keyboard parts and developed drum fills, which by the way are very good. But the rest stays at the same average level, and does not try to move higher.
The Estonian LOITS try to catch the buyers attention with an attractive title, but in fact, this performance is quite misleading, as the album is not a must. Of course, it is always good to listen to such tune, although it is not a necessary choice.
