I am not a fan of Blues Rock. But I occasionally listened some bands from type, for example THE DOORS and Polish bands – DZEM as well as NON IRON. Well, I got this album of Italian trio then I have to describe it…
The first thing which I heard it was the American climate of the music (I mean – the south of United States)… Generally E.Z. RIDERS plays nicely – lightly raw and a little quarrelsome… and very melodious with the ornaments in style of sounds of oral mouth-organ and the guitar solos… The band also surprises, for example there are the strong influences of Reggae music in one track as well as lively sounds in Rock'n'Roll style or even the climate from “Western-movie” and Southern Rock. The other song – “Long Way From Home” is the pleasant ballad typical for Blues Rock style. And it is not only such accent, because we will also hear the very emotional solos and the motifs. For example – the second solo from song “Far Away” associated me strongly with motif from “List do M.” (of Polish legendary band DZEM). Additionally some guitar motf from song “Tryin' Not To Fall” is very similar for motive from song “Oni zaraz przyjda tu” of BREAKOUT (other legendary Polish band). Obviously these associations are my. Someone will hear in this work for example JIMI HENDRIX.
In total, the music of E.Z. RIDERS belong to more calm expressions (from my point of view) but the music has spontaneity and energy. The works are energetic and very guitar. Here the rhythm of Blues Rock alternates with melancholy and looseness mood.
