To be honest I know nothing about this band. I also found a little information at the Internet.

Album started plays very psychedelic… The instrumental Jazz Fusion full of asymmetrical rhythms with the emanations of cacophonous themes (of guitar and keyboards)… However, the weak sound of guitars (too harsh) is audible (it cause the guitars are pushed back too far).

The tracks are composed by the almost endless passages and the masterly licks with the frequent changes of motives. Sometimes I had the impression like the instruments have competed with themselves. After some time of the musical progressive mixture I heard the half-sung, the half- recited vocals with a strange accent (in English). I have the impression like the singer fails and certainly he not pulls of the sound, but the idea of singing is good and the performance is bad. But this is not the only vocal manifestations. We will also hear a woman's singing and backing vocals.

The compositions of SPACELAND SHADOW show the variety with the masterly variations of themes ranging from the sharp guitar sounds with the cosmic keyboards until the clean guitar licks, the melodic solos and the melancholy motifs (almost sleepy). Some themes are extend to the areas of Progressive Rock and Electronic Music from the 70's and 80's. Another time we hear Metal patents from the years 80/90 and even the pieces of Classical Music.

As I mentioned at the beginning – the music is saturated by the huge element of psychedelia and futuristic climate and the dose of sleepy melancholy. Thus, it is a strange mixture, very turbulent and vague, and its flavor is different with the every sip.

SPACELAND SHADOW seems to be a good progressive band with very good ideas. However, should correct the sound of guitars and work on the vocals.

note: 8.0/10
