Former FAITH NO MORE/current FANTOMAS singer Mike Patton has reportedly recorded six songs for his upcoming “pop” solo album, “Comfort System”, with Norwegian producer John Erik Kaada (CLOROFORM).
“I've been working with Mike in San Francisco, and soon he'll come over to my studio in Norway to add some vocals to [the recordings],” Kaada told Norway's Dagbladet.
While Patton's pop-project probably won't see the light of day until 2005, he and Kaada have worked together on a noise-record for some time that is going to be released shortly.
In related news, Patton has reportedly told German magazine Visions that his long-delayed PEEPING TOM project will definitely be released this year. Patton also stated that his projected collaboration with 3-D of MASSIVE ATTACK won't happen because Patton never got back any of the demo tapes he has sent to 3-D.
With regards to a possible resurrection of MR. BUNGLE, Patton said, “It's pretty much a dead issue now.” According to Mike, three records in 15 years speaks volumes about the work ethic that existed in the band.
FANTOMAS' long-awaited third album, “Delirium Cordia”, was released Tuesday (Jan. 27) through Ipecac Records.
