SLIPKNOT

have set a May 25 release date through Roadrunner Records for their much-anticipated, as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2001's “Iowa”.

The band are currently preparing to hit the road as part of the fourth installment of the Jägermeister Music Tour, beginning March 30 in Orlando, Florida. FEAR FACTORY and CHIMAIRA are also onboard for the five-week trek, which wraps up May 4 in Denver. Tickets for the tour go on sale February 13. A variety of Jägermeister-sponsored bands will assume the fourth spot on the bill.

Commented drummer Joey Jordison, “We're back and it's been far too long. On the tour we are ready to get completely back to basics of delivering unbridled brutality your way. This is for the maggots that have stood by us…prepare!”

As previously reported, a brand new SLIPKNOT track, entitled “Don't Get Close”, will be featured in an upcoming Activision videogame, tentatively due in April. A slightly reworked version of the song is expected to appear on the upcoming CD, which is currently being recorded with producer Rick Rubin (SYSTEM OF A DOWN, SLAYER, AUDIOSLAVE). An Ozzfest second-stage co-headlining stint is believed to be in the works as well.
