TENET „Sovereign”

The odd bit of trivia about Tenet is they formed back in 1996 but never got off the ground due to conflicting schedules and near-zero commitment, besides all the members being busy with Strapping Young Lad at the time. With Strapping out of commission for some years now, founder Glen Avelais has finally brought his side project to life and what an awesome resuscitation it is, considering the talent who fill Tenet’s ranks.

IMPELLITTERI „Wicked Maiden”

Only a long-time fan or guitar aficionado would really embrace this comeback, because Impellitteri’s namesake—guitar wunderkind Chris Impelitteri—is in top form throughout “Wicked Maiden.” His rhythm playing alone is light years ahead of today’s top shredders. But the band has never been a one-man show case (no matter how much the musical evidence suggests the contrary), thus explaining the presence of Christian metal’s loudest voice (literally), Rob Rock, who pulls no stops anywhere on the album.
