REVEREND BIZARRE „So Long Suckers”
This album marks the end of an era for a truly great doom metal band. REVEREND BIZARRE have been pleasing doom fans for over a decade, but now their time has come to lay the Reverend to rest.
REVEREND BIZARRE – Interview with bassist/vocalist Albert Witchfinder
Doom metal music has been a passion of mine since I first heard the dark bar chords of BLACK SABBATH. I didnt realize there was a whole scene entirely devoted to this sound until I discovered CATHEDRAL. From then on I was hooked. I bought any doom band that I heard or read good things about. Ive amassed a large collection of great doom albums by such bands as AVERNUS, CANDLEMASS, MY DYING BRIDE, ANATHEMA, SHROUD OF BEREAVEMENT, THE OBSESSED, MORGION, ORODRUIN and many others. Recently, I discovered a Finnish band called REVEREND BIZARRE. REVEREND BIZARRE truly grasps the concept of how to create dark, floor-rumbling heaving doom metal. Unfortunately not long after discovering this doom metal gem, the band is singing its swan song. The group's front man, Albert Witchfinder addressed a few questions about its forthcoming album and the bands demise.
REVEREND BIZARRE „Harbinger of Metal EP”
Despite its length, Harbinger of Metal is considered an EP. The disc contains six original tracks and one cover of BURZUMs Dunkelheit. If you read my reviews of In the Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend and II: Crush the Insects then do not change your preconceived notions about what Harbinger is supposed to sound like.
REVEREND BIZARRE „II: Crush the Insects”
This is the second CD Ive reviewed by Finnish doom metallers, REVERAND BIZARRE. The first one In the Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend was very dark and slow.
REVEREND BIZARRE „In the Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend”
In the Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend was originally released in 2002 via Sinister Figure/Low Frequency Records. Low Frequency re-released the album the following year.
